Monday and Tuesday consisted of google searching, mapping, and exploring new areas in search of our permanent housing for the next 2 years! It’s a scary venture trying to make this decision when we have only been in the UK for 4 days! Agh! Our flat currently looks a hot mess as we navigate the washer/dryer and trying to find a dirty clothes area in the kitchen, but this has been our life the last 2 days! Ha!
We found a yummy Italian place we ate dinner at last night after our house hunting expedition. It was fantastic food, wonderful service, super kid friendly, and very reasonably priced! It’s called Wildwood, and I highly recommend it! For a glass of orange juice, glass of wine, appetizer, 2 adult meals, 1 kids meal that was huge (Note:Eli ate an entire pizza), and for a yummy brownie dessert with ice cream, we got out of the restaurant under 50 pounds! I call that a win! 🙂 Eli is thinking about it, and decides it’s a win in his book too!
Day 4 & 5 Thoughts:
- Chicken in the grocery store is so expensive here! And we buy a lot of chicken, so I need to figure out another option!
- I’m excited to try Little Gym & Monkey Music later in the week with Eli so we can meet some friends!
- We need to set up a local bank ASAP!
- I think I’ll be able to navigate just Eli and I when Joe starts work next week, but I’m nervous about getting the pram (stroller), Eli, and our stuff up a huge flight of stairs to our flat (apartment). I will be googling how to get strollers up and down stairs alone the next few days to prepare!
