Monday and Tuesday were spent exploring the city on our own since Joe started work, meeting new friends, exploring the Science Museum, and finding new eats!
Monday morning we headed to the gym for a workout then lunch with some sweet new friends! I am loving the gym classes here and utilizing them more than I ever have in Dallas! Really loving the barre classes!
Eli had a rough afternoon with this never ending teething going on around here, so I was excited for a dinner in! I prepped some pesto salmon and veggies and had everything seasoned and ready to go into the oven when Joe texted that he was headed home. However, the oven had other plans! After trying to navigate the oven and screaming toddler, I could not get the oven on! I did all of the usual things and it would not turn on…. I sent Joe a long video with exactly how I was trying to turn the oven on to see if he had any thoughts of what I was doing wrong, and he thought it was broken. Needless to say, we ended up eating out and I saved the salmon for Tuesday’s dinner! After dinner Joe looked at the oven, and we figured out you have to push this random button near the timer and it works. Next time I need to press every button! Ha
Tuesday we headed to the gym then to meet a new friend and her son at the science museum. I walk there, get there nice and early and wait inside to meet her! At 10:58 (we were meeting at 11), I decided to connect to the wifi so I could message her where I was. I noticed the wifi was “NHM” which was weird because I was at the National Science Museum, or so I thought. After glancing down at my pamphlet, I realized I was at the history museum!!!! They told me to walk through the entire museum through the “red zone” to the other end of the museum to exit. It was a hot mess navigating through the museum, but we made it only a few minutes late to meet new friends at the science museum!
And the science museum was so much fun!! They have an awesome kids space with tons of activities, and Eli loved it! We will definitely be returning very soon!
We had a wonderful morning meeting new friends, then we headed home for an attempted nap. It took over an hour for him to go to sleep and by the time he did I was so exhausted and took a nap on the couch too while watching Fuller House (which yes I know is corny, but I love it!)
Tonight we ate dinner then walked to nearby bakery for some desserts! I didn’t get pictures because they were devoured too quickly, but trust me they were super yummy!
Day 10 & 11 Thoughts:
- We are loving life here and getting into the groove of things! It really is not very different from the states
- It’s been great getting to know new friends and I’m excited for more play dates!
- I’m never going to lose weight with the nightly desserts!
- Eli is adjusting really well, but the teething is driving me crazy! How long does this last?! Agh!
- Looking for weekend travel advice. Thinking Italy for Easter with some dear friends maybe? Or Prague? Recommendations are appreciated!

Living in London must be quite the experience. It’s great that you are getting out and meeting new people. Sorry that Eli is teething and hopefully it goes away soon!
Joanna @ Everyday Made Fresh says
That looks like such a fun museum for kids. That’s one thing that I don’t like about our area, the kids museum isn’t really fun and interactive.
Blythe Alpern says
When we got our new oven it took some getting used to because sometimes it would turn itself off. If you didn’t hit the buttons right or put food in the oven when you were using it to broil, your dinner would not cook.

It that rice and beans warped in a banana leaf? I forget the name of it but I was hooked after a friend of mine had me try it. Legos and a tip to the Museum that sounds like my kind of day.
