I am officially at the half-way mark this pregnancy, and let me just say it is flying by! I will tell the whole story of this miracle pregnancy eventually, but for now I will leave you with a fun pregnancy update questionnaire!
How far along: 20 weeks
Size of baby: Mango
Must have items:
- This BBhugme pregnancy pillow. I ordered it in the middle of the night about a week ago when I couldn’t sleep, and it was the best decision ever! I was a little bitter to say the least about the BumpNest going out of business because I loved that pillow with Eli and it travelled everywhere with us! It made a trek to Kansas, New Mexico, New York, Arkansas, and all over the state of Texas. This one seems to be living up to the high bar that the bumpnest set so far, but we will see how it wears over time. I love that I can adjust this pillow to make it softer or more firm depending on what I am looking for that night.
- This dress here has been my go to lately! This and a long tank top black maxi dress are my every day wears!
Sleep: Ehhh…. off and on. So I have in my head based on too much internet reading, that I need to sleep on my left side. Well the problem is that my left side gets sore, I flip to my right, then I wake up freaked out and worried about Rex not getting enough blood flow, that I turn back on my left uncomfortable side. I am a stomach sleeper by heart, and even though I am not showing much yet, it is already uncomfortable sleeping on my tummy. The pregnancy pillow is definitely helping with this though, and I am much more comfortable now with it!
Pregnancy Symptoms: None really. Thankfully this pregnancy I have not been near as sick as I was with Eli. Other than the first trimester exhaustion and being a little nauseous the first trimester, this pregnancy has been so great up until a few days ago! Now that I am well into the second trimester, my energy is back and I don’t find myself getting nauseous unless I wake up too early or don’t eat! However, I have had some lower back problems that is now requiring that I see a physio multiple times a week, then go to rehab following, so hoping it resolves soon. I joke because I have been telling everyone how much easier this pregnancy is, and now I am hit with these back problems that aren’t healing because I can’t rest with the feisty 2 year old!
Cravings: Nothing really. It is weird but during pregnancy I do not eat as much. I like to just snack and eat small amounts all day.
Baby movement: Loving that I am feeling him so much now!! Every night when I lay down to go to bed, I feel him moving and grooving like crazy in there! I love this stage of pregnancy- just getting the reassurance from him that all is well in there, makes a mommy’s heart happy!
Gender & Name: Baby boy! We found out around 9 weeks via the Harmony blood test that we are having another little boy! I am so excited that Eli will have a brother and if he is anything like wild Eli, I see many wild adventures with these two in my future! I would love to have a girl eventually and buy all of the frilly dresses and bows, but right now I will keep painting my nails blue and buying blue clothes and shoes and embracing this boy mom hood! I am happy being a boy mom-it keeps me on my toes!! We are naming baby boy Rex Joseph. We knew that we would name this baby’s middle name Joseph if it was a boy because we are trying to stick with family names for middle names. However, we were back and forth on first names. When I found Rex while searching to try to find a cute English name for this baby, since it would be born in London, I found Rex. I was only about 5 weeks pregnant at the time, but my heart was pretty set on Rex early on. Joseph was on board and loved the name as well, so before we even found out the gender, we knew this baby was going to be Rex Joseph or Harper Lynn!
Challenges this week: Booking my 20 week anatomy scan and trying to get all registered for the hospital here! Overall, the experience here with doctors has been slightly different so far, but very enjoyable! Also, these back problems have been a huge hurdle this week, so prayers it resolves quickly!
Best moment this week: The Royal Ascot over the weekend and spending Sunday with my boys having a relaxing day!
