In January, my family and some friends with a toddler Eli’s age, went for an overnight trip to The Four Seasons Hampshire. We took a car service from London to the Four Seasons on Saturday morning at about 9:00 am. We arrived early so we could spend the day exploring the property.
After a seamless check in process where I checked in while Eli was introduced to the hotel dog, we geared up with some Hunter wellies and jackets provided by the hotel and headed outside to explore. We went to the playground and the kids had a blast chasing each other through the playground and down the slides. We also checked out the kids club, but we didn’t utilize this any more because they cannot stay unattended at the creche until age 3.
While walking back from the kids club to head inside for lunch, Eli was pushing a small dump truck and went over the truck and busted his mouth/nose on the concrete. After cleaning him up, we calmed down by swinging on the swings before heading in for lunch. We had a good lunch at the Carrot Cafe before getting our rooms to change for the pool. Our rooms were ready and upon checking in, the kids were greeted with a sign, cookies, a baby cot, a toddler robe, and then diapers, wipes, bath products and lotion for both kids. There was even a nappy bin in the room to dispose of the diapers.
We changed and headed to the amazing pool! Rex was content hanging out on the side of the pool with me while Eli and Joe did most of the swim. Rex did take a quick dip, but didn’t last long in the pool before we took him out to make sure he was warm enough.
The pool was great and so accommodating to kids. We spent almost all afternoon here, only taking a break to go to the cafe for a snack. Would I go back here with just Joe and I without kids? Hmm… i don’t know. With kids? 110%. There were kids everywhere!!
We ate dinner that night at the same restaurant and they had a spectacular kids buffet all set up. We sat down and almost immediately went and got the kids food so they could start eating. They had lots of options (pasta, different sauces, hot dogs, chicken, veggies, fruit, and lots of sweets). It was definitely a hit with the kids! The adult dinner was also great. After dinner, we all went to bed to prep for day two!
The next morning we started with breakfast in the same dining room. We had booked the bed & breakfast rate, so with this the buffet and most of the menu was included. We all ordered an English breakfast and got some snacks from the buffet to hold us over until the food arrived. After breakfast, Maya and I headed to get a massage while the boys all went outside to explore the property and see the animals. It sounded like they had a blast because they all came back muddy! Ha! Maya and I had a fantastic time in the spa and it was definitely one of the nicest spas that I have been to. I got a facial added onto my massage last minute, and it was the best decision ever!
After the spa we went back to the pool for the afternoon, only taking a break to eat in the cafe next to the pool.
We checked out at 3:00 pm to head back to London! It was a great overnight trip, and we definitely hope to be back soon!! Next time, we hope to stay two nights because there is plenty to do to stay another night! We all came back to London rested and ready to take on a new week!
