Stay in bed….

January 11, 2017

A few days before we arrived in London, Eli started crawling out of the baby crib. The first time was at Nana and Grandpa Bobs. I was in the bathtub and Eli was in the room connected to the bathroom supposed to be sleeping. He was crying so I was hurrying in the tub to get out to get him. And then he stopped crying! Success-He fell asleep!!! (Or so I thought). A few moments later he walked into the bathroom with a huge smile on his face and waving “HIIII” I jumped out hoping Joe had got him out of bed, but nope he crawled out…

Then we went to Nac for Christmas and same story… I put him down and went downstairs thinking he had fallen asleep. He started crying and my sister and I heard a loud thump from upstairs. She went to the bottom of the stairs and he saw both Honey and Aunt Cici and was waving… the rest of the trip to Nac he flipped out when he didn’t want to sleep.

We came to London and I was excited to have a pack-n-play with a thick comfy mattress thinking this would be harder for him to flip out of, but nope…. since we have been here he has been getting out of it a ton, coming to our room in the middle of the night and waking us up in the morning. Not ideal to say the least. Last night bedtime routine took over 3 hours, he climbed out of bed 10+ times, and it was a hot mess…

So today is intervention day. Joe went into the office and I’m currently sitting outside of his bedroom. Every time I hear him starting to get up, I open the door and tell him to “lay down” or “stay in bed” and he saying “OK” every time haha! He’s not upset, and I’m opening the door less frequently now (only once every 20 seconds or so haha) and I’ve been doing this a little over 30 minutes now…. hoping this works soon!!!!! Prayers and good vibes are way will be appreciated! An overtired munchkin is no fun!

PS. Yes we have a lot of stuff in his bed right now lol. If he gets up I’d rather him entertain himself in bed and fall back to sleep. Not sure if this will work, but cheers to trying!
